Go for a natural look.
Remember when I wrote to you all about neutral colors, like this soft creams, beiges, and light browns (click HERE for post)? Well, I decided I wanted to take the time to show you all how I would interpret the trend to be.
One day after work, I went shopping for some extra bottoms and tops that I really think that I had fun with it. Among them were these two great pieces that you'll see above - a mesh knit sweater and soft cream pants (both from Zara). The pants are a little on the slouchy side, but extremely comfortable. I don't want to do anything unless I'm in these pants.
The look itself is a really, really subtle one. There's nothing very special about wearing all one color, that's why you have to change it up with some texture. The mesh and coarse texture of the sweater and bottoms really gave the outfit that little bit of something that it needed. To add some flare to it, I went ahead and paired in the animal print Vans that I found at Nordstrom rack (and for only $25!). Last, I added a few finishing touches with my American Apparel carry-all and Fossil watch.
If you're not comfortable in head-to-toe neutrals, then just throw in a beige chino or cream shirt. Trends in small portions is acceptable and preferred. Don't go overboard like I always do.
