A Splash of Color

Feeling on top of the world.

Sometimes I find myself liking so many different styles that I just throw them all together and hope for the best. Up until now, it's kind of worked for me, and I'd like to think that it has in the outfit pictured above.

Above you'll see me wearing one of my favorite purchases, the black, structureless 'Ursula' jacket by Elizabeth & James, a clothing line owned by the Olsens. Paired with the jacket, I've gone ahead and splashed some color into the all black palette that I seem to be wearing more and more often. The colors sort of soften up the look, but really keep true to the sort of edge that I like to uphold.

Noticing that I'm wearing all black, I still like to make sure that I add in some texture at the very least; suede does the trick just fine. My shoes are black suede smoking slippers by Christian Louboutin, a little splurge that I allowed myself to have a few months back. They're probably one of the greatest purchases I've made, as I feel that a black loafer is essential to any dapper guy's wardrobe.

Overall, the feel of the outfit is one that I love. It's just a really simple look made up of really detailed pieces. In the case that you don't have a jacket like mine, consider switching out for a traditional black blazer. Blazers add for a nice touch, especially when you're going for a more polished look. Just remember to have fun with it, your style, and your personality; your style is always an extension of your personality.
