Black is my new favorite color.
It's been some time since I've had great photos to provide you all, but today, I think that was for the best. Over the past few months, I really think that I've been experiencing some changes in my style. I seem to gravitate toward looser, roomier clothing. Slightly oversized shirts and sweaters, baggier pants, and edgier boots / shoes. The funny thing is, they're all black. For whatever reason, that's just been what has caught my eye. I think it's safe to say that I've fallen into the San Francisco mentality that all-black is back.
Here in San Francisco, almost everyone wears black on a daily basis; after all, I work in Nordstrom, so everyone around me is head-to-toe monochrome. It's just an easy excuse to get away with wearing all one color. But, the easiest way to make one color more interesting is the textures you use. For example, I've mixed mesh, cotton, textured leather, and hints of cream contrast to change it up a bit. The entire outfit shown above is simple, easy, and really comfortable. Comfort is key to living here in the city. And I do have to admit, wearing these trousers above is a nice change from the skinnies that I'm used to.
Anyway, I've rambled enough. My parting advice would be to just get yourself out of the comfort zone you're in and try something new. What's the worst that could happen? It's always good to explore your style, so start doing it if you haven't already.
